Iona E. Hemphill

Iona E Hemphill age 92, of Water Valley, Miss., formerly of McCaysville passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley. Mrs. Hemphill was born Wednesday, December 30, 1914 in Morganton, Georgia to the late Walton Owenby and the late Harriet McCeldry Owenby. She was a member of the First Baptist Church McCaysville Copperhill and was a retired owner of Hemphill's Dress Shop. She was preceded in death by husband Audie L. Hemphill in 1995.

Survivors include: daughter, Dorris Crawford of Water Valley, Miss., daughter, Joanne Schonborn of Waxhaw, NC, sisters, Iris Reece and Ruth Anderson brothers, Roy Owenby, James Owenby and Charles Owenby, five grandchildren Lori Williamson, Len Crawford, Darrell Crawford, Jeff Schonborn and Carman Banham, nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Raymond Aven officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8, Thursday, July 19.
