Inez Hyatt Arp, a native of Culberson, NC passed away September 14, 2013 in Sacramento, CA. She was born on February 25, 1912 to the late Jason Williamson Hyatt and the late Jane Elizabeth Hyatt. She married Charles Edgar Arp on October 17, 1935 in Blue Ridge, GA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1977. She was also preceded by her 4 sisters, Aurelia Maples, Grace DeWeese, Neva Mildred Cearley and Dorothy Modine "Byth" Mashburn; her 3 brothers, Guy Herman Hyatt, Jason Ray Hyatt and Donald Melton "Toby" Hyatt; and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Wandling Arp.
She is survived by her children, Edward Charles Arp of Thornville, OH, Kenneth Arp (Dee) of Mesa, AZ, Sandra Sue Kurosky of Galloway, OH and Wanda Jean Elder (Jeffrey) of Sacramento, CA. In addition there are 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 26 great great-grandchildren.
Inez moved to Akron, OH in 1946 to join her husband who had taken a job in the tire industry. Upon his retirement in 1972, they lived briefly in McCaysville, then Dalton and finally settling in Ellenton, FL. After his death, she eventually moved to Largo, FL. After several years in Florida, she spent some time in Mesa, AZ before finally moving to Sacramento, CA in 2001.
A memorial service and internment ceremony will take place at Sweetgum Baptist Church on May 31, 2014 at 11:00 am.
