Hugh Lynn Brackett

Mr. Hugh Lynn Brackett, age 72 of McCaysville, passed away October 16, 2016 at home. Mr. Brackett was born September 29, 1944 in Ducktown, TN to the late Jody Brackett and the late Ester Taylor Brackett. A member of Saint Anthonys Catholic Church, Mr. Brackett worked for City Service in Copperhill, TN for 33 years and traveled with the Boiler Makers Union for an additional 10 years. He loved fishing, golfing, grandchildren, family, raising foster children, and watching eagles. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Brackett, his brother, Gene Brackett and grandson William Emanuel Brackett.

Survivors include: wife, Kathy Brackett, son, David (Rozita) Brackett, son, Timothy (Stephanie) Brackett, son, Billy (Amber) Brackett, daughter, Kelly (Andy) Crowder, sister, Marlene Hood, sister, Sue (Herman) Godfrey, grandchildren, Lindsey, Lauren, Ivey, Ashleigh, Hailey, Dustin, Hunter, Avery, Drew, and Savannah, great-grand children, Carter, Jacob, and Hutson.

Funeral services: Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 am from the St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Father John Conway officiating. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Greg Hood, Jimmy Hood, James McGill, LeRoy Satterfield, Gary Dillard, Nick Wimberly. Honorary pallbearers: Members of Boiler makers Union.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, GA Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
