Hubert Ray Sisson

October 22, 1922 — April 10, 2008

Mr. Hubert Ray Sisson, age 85, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Copper Basin Medical Center. Hubert was born Sunday, October 22, 1922 in Polk Co. Tenn. to the late I.O. Sisson and the late Minnie Earl Camp Sisson. He was married to the love of his life for 62 Years and love his children dearly.
He was a avid sports fan, and a U.S. Army Air Core Veteran serving in WWII.

Hubert was a member of Isbella Baptist Church, a former chairman of the Polk County Democratic Party. He retired from Tennessee Chemical in 1968 and was a former president of the Chemical Workers Local 401 and retired from the State of TN Job Corps as a recuriter. He was a member of The Copper Basin Golf Club.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Elrod; brothers, Ralph Sisson, Weldon Sisson, J.B. Sisson, Edmund Sisson and Hoyt Sisson; and sisters, Irene Scruggs, Dorothy Kincaid and Edith Tallent.

Survivors include: wife, Evelyn Sisson of Copperhill, TN, son & daughter-in-law, Ray & Judy Sisson of Cleveland, TN, daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Max Arp of Isabella, TN, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, brother, Ted Sisson, and a host of neices and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown, TN with Reverend Donald Padgett officiating. Serving as pallbearers are: Ronnie Dillard, Stephen Arp, Hoyt Johnson, Britt Jones, Mike McDougal, and Steve Sisson. Military Honors will be given by the North Gerogia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Friday, April 11 6-9 PM.
