Hubert Raper

Mr. Hubert Raper, age 66 of Murphy, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 15 at Mission Hospital. Mr. Raper was born in Cobb County, GA August 28, 1944 the son of Arthur William Raper and Gertrude Thomas Raper . He was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran. He was a Real Estate Broker in the family business, Raper Reality Inc. for 39 years where he worked with his wife Dorothy and brothers Marvin and Hoyt Raper. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed fishing and water sports. Hubert had an intense enthusiasm for life and relished spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur William Raper.

Survivors include: wife, Dorothy Raper, mother, Gertrude Raper, sister, Lavaughn Fair, brother, Hoyt Raper, sister, Verniece "Tootsie" (Joseph) Kilpatrick, brother, Marvin (Terry) Raper, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy with the Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating. Music will be provided by Kristin Fair, Rachel Fair and Penny Miller. Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Hoyt Raper, Marvin Raper, Joe Kilpatrick, Terry Fair, Michael Raper and Christopher Raper. Honorary pallbearers are Steve and Dennis Oliver.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home that Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM
