The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mr. Howard Seale, age 94, of Hiawassee, GA, formerly of Canton, Ohio, who went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2016.
He was born in Coal City, Alabama on Feb. 21, 1922 to the late James E. and Caldonia (Hardin) Seale. He was the eighth of nine children. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII. He was also a proud member of Unicoy Masonic Lodge #259 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Canton, Ohio after thirty years as a pipe fitter. He immediately left Ohio and headed for the north Georgia Mountains where he fished every day he possibly could.
In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gladys Berrong Seale, and his son in law, Wayne "Frank" Allen along with many other relatives and friends.
He is survived and greatly missed by his only child, Shari Ann (Frank-deceased) Seale Allen, grandchildren, Michele Hensley Toyo, of Canton, Ohio and Michael Hensley of Hiawassee, GA, and great granddaughters Nicole and Kira Toyo. He is also survived by his step grandchildren, Christine (Bill) Lindenbaum and Todd (Debbie) Allen and great grandchildren Leah (Rick) and Bri Conner, Lindsey (Brandt) Smith, and Ethan Lindenbaum. Also surviving are his sister in law, Johnie Mae Seale, several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Upper Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Beck officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the service begins. Interment will follow at Upper Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.
