Hilda McTaggart

Hilda Frances McTaggart, 98, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Murphy Rehab and Nursing Home in Murphy, North Carolina. Hilda was born March 5, 1925, in Murphy, North Carolina to William and Frances Leatherwood.

Hilda was preceded in death by her father, William Leatherwood; mother, Frances Leatherwood; sons, Sonny McTaggart and Billy McTaggart; and husband, Marvin McTaggart

She is survived by her daughter Linda Scalzo; granddaughters, Dawn Morgan and Teresa Christiansen; grandsons, Dewayne McTaggart and James McTaggart; brothers Bobby Leatherwood and Fred Leatherwood; and sister Martha Raxter.

Hilda was a godly woman and a devoted mother. She was a member of Upper Peachtree Baptist Church. She had a wonderful Alto voice and enjoyed singing at church. She loved her family deeply and cherished time with them.
