Herschel Payne

Herschel Clay Payne Jr, 80, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Herschel was born June 21, 1942, in the Hot House Community to Herschel and Bonnie Payne. Herschel was preceded in death by father, Herschel Payne Sr. and mother, Bonnie Kyle Payne.

Clay was brother to Stoney Payne, Randall Payne, Sue Gray, Patsy Payne, Dollie Ray, Janie Tankersley and Nina Stillwell. Tom Wheeler was a dear friend and caregiver of Clay's.

A private graveside service will be held at Douthit Family Cemetery on Monday January 23, 2023.
