He was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina, and had been raised by his grandparents, Ernest & Bessie Holloway.
Mr. Holloway was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Murphy.
Surviving family members are his wife Linda Diane Kepart Holloway; daughter & son-in-law Genie & Doyle Chambers; son & daughter-in-law Herbert Dale &Brenda Holloway; 4 grandchildren: Jessica Dockery, Kayla Taylor, Josh Holloway, & Shelby Holloway; 3 great-grandchildren: Riley Dockery, Julia Dockery, & Tori Taylor; Six half-brothers Clinton Roberts, Harlen Roberts, Boone Roberts, Johnny Francis, Joe Francis, & Robert Francis; Six half-sisters, Sherry Jean Bowers, Mary Curtis, Elaine Ducksworth, Carolyn Moss, Linda Stiles, & Rhea Mae Stiles; many other relatives and friends also survive.
Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by grandparents, Ernest & Bessie Holloway, mother, Thelma Pardon Francis; father Lewis Roberts; & step-father, Jack Francis.
Friends will be received at the at the Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy from 6-9 Thursday, August 13, 2009.
Services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy at 11:00 am Friday, August, 14, 2009 with interment at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
