Hellen Kimsey

Hellen Harriet Kimsey, 93, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at Brasstown Manor in Hiawassee, GA. Hellen was born July 22, 1929, in Hayesville, NC to Tom and Edna Herbert. 

Hellen was preceded in death by husband, Todd Kimsey; father, Tom Herbert; mother, Edna Herbert.
She is survived by her daughter Ann Potts; grandchildren, Kevin (Teri) Potts and Keith (Casey) Potts, and special friend, John Ashe (Big John) .

She was a member of Sharp Memorial. She taught elementary school, high school, and at Young Harris College. She contributed to getting The Mountain Regional Library built.

A memorial service will be held on Friday January 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home Hiawassee Chapel, with Pastor Rev. Stephen Soulen and Director of Ministry Care Jim Barker speaking.  Music will be  provided by Frank Howell. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home Hiawassee Chapel. Following the chapel service, there will be a graveside service held at Laurel Hills Memory Gardens.
