Ruth Thomas

Ruth Thomas, 93, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown, TN. Ruth was born November 20, 1930, in McCaysville, GA to Clyde and Lou Emma Tanner. 

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, D.W. Thomas; father, Clyde Tanner; mother, Lou Emma Tanner; sisters, Evelyn Sisson, Ruby Forrester, Joanne Brown, and Judy Carver; and brother, Buddy Tanner.   

She is survived by her children; Connie (Ike) Grindstaff and Roger (Janet) Thomas, grandchildren; Jeff (Anne Marie) Thomas, Marc (Becky) Grindstaff, and Allison (Erik) Bennett; great-grandchildren; Alex (Avery) Thomas, Rachel (Justin) Smith, Reagan (Josh) Teague, Grace Grindstaff, Isabella Grindstaff, and Jordan Bennett; great-great-grandchildren; Morgan and Skylan Smith; and several nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Thomas. 

Funeral Service, on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Kingtown Baptist Church with Rev Eddie Tanner and Rev. Terry Callihan officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Max Sisson, Stacy Towl, Keith Carver, Jeremy Buchanan, Shawn Mashburn, and Kim Corn. 

Interment will follow at Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery, McCaysville, GA. in McCaysville, GA. 

The family will receive friends at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Monday, 4th of December, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingtown Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Thomas.
