Helen Mason Nichols

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Helen Mason Nichols, 83, of Young Harris, Georgia, who passed away on Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Nichols had lived most of her life in our area, and was a member of West Union Baptist Church. She had been preceded in death by her husband, Rowe Nichols; a daughter, Melissa Marie Nichols; a grandchild, Holly; her parents, Tom and Oma Long Mason; sister, Hazel Nicholson; brothers: Jack Mason, Frank Mason, and Charlie Mason.

Family members left to treasure the memory of Helen Nichols are: son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Betty Nichols, of Young Harris; and son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sophia Nichols, also of Young Harris; sister, Ruth Ledford of Hayesville, North Carolina, and Bill Mason, of Blairsville, Georgia; 6 grandchildren: Alecia Frizzell, Daniel Nichols, Kimberly Roney, Brett Deyton, Brian Deyton, and Shannon Griffin; 13 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd, 2019, to be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Burial will be in West Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen are requested to serve as pallbearers: Daniel Frizzell, Jason Young, Jeff Young, Aaron Roney, Bobby McNabb, and Jason McNabb. The family will meet with friends on Friday evening, June 21st, between the hours of 7 pm until 9 pm.
