Mrs. Helen K. Burger, age 99, of McCaysville, GA passed away October 4, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mrs. Burger was born on August 18, 1910 in Polk County, TN. She was a member of Copperhill First United Methodist Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Joe "Boss" Burger; parents, Leslie & Mary Jones Kimsey; son, Jimmy Burger; sisters, Imogene Lindner, Ruth Raper, Sally Cheek, Bobbie Kimsey, Minnie Bates, and Ruby Kimsey; brother, Paul Kimsey; and grandson, Greg Farmer.
Survivors include: daughter, Edna Earle Hyde of Copperhill, TN; grandsons, Tony (Evelyn) Farmer, Johnny (Donna) Farmer, Mark (Sandie) Burger; granddaughters, Sharon Farmer, and Jan (Lee) Whattley; great grandsons, Matthew Farmer, Jonathan Farmer, Jordan Farmer; great granddaughters, Cassandra Fuller, Jessica Landry, Monica Hall, and Sarah Burger; great-great grandsons, Tyler Fuller, and Mason Fuller; and great-great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Landry, Kemeilia Landry, and Kirsten Hall. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 4:00 PM from the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill with Reverend Barry Sarver and Reverend Ken Abbott officiating. Mrs. Burger will lie in state from 3:00 until time of service. Music will be provided by Jerrie Sue Massengale. Pallbearers will be Frank Russell, John Cheek, Larry Cheek, Tom Cheek, Ronnie Cheek, and Steve Runion. Honorary Pallbearers are Nelson Bates, Bob Weese, Leland Rymer, Rene Bidez, Brownie Pittman, Wayne Brooks, Jim Chatham, Larry Collis, Garry Day, Travis Goss, Doyce Loudermilk, Roy Quintrell, and Rassie Cheek. Burial will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery.

The family will recive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
