Hazel Evelyn Owenby Harper, age 88, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 at in Woodstock, Ga.
She was born on September 8, 1921 in Fannin, GA, to the late Roy and Jessie Owenby. She was a member of Sweetgum Baptist Church and volunteered with Hospice for many years.
She was preceded in death by Brothers, Lawrence Owenby, J.B. Owenby and Ross Owenby.
Survivors include: Brothers, Cecil (Brenda) Owenby of Blue Ridge, Tom (Sue) Owenby of Marietta, sisters, Gladys Donohue of Garden Grove, CA and Dorothy (T.C.) Laney of Woodstock, GA.
Funeral services will be held Monday December 28, at 11:00 AM from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Carter and Rev. Doug Harringaton officiating. Music will be provided by Jim Gray. Pallbearers will be David Owenby, Don Owenby, Dan Owenby, Cris Evans, Paul Laney, Mike Laney, Justin Owenby and Steve Owenby. Honorary Pallbearers include, Billy Wright, Franklin Wright, Clark Byers, Kenneth Tarpley, Lewis Deweese, Ronnie Deweese and Gene Buchanan. Burial will follow in Sweetgum Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home from 1 until 5 PM Sunday Evening.
