Harry Charles Warren, Jr. (Chuck), 76, passed away peacefully July 2, 2023, at his home in Murphy, N.C.Chuck was born October 9, 1946, in Tampa, Florida to Harry Charles Warren, Sr. and Margaret Barber Warren.
Chuck was a man of many, many talents, and hobbies. There wasn't much that he couldn't build or craft when he set his mind to it. Many of his friends and family have wonderful hand made items to lovingly remember him by. But he also loved to kayak, fish, ride his motorcycle, and last but definitely not least -he loved to hunt. Chuck went kayaking in New Zealand, Central America, North Carolina, the Snake River, and the Colorado River. He rafted down the Grand Canyon several times. He hunted all over the Northwest and Alaska. His home was filled with his hunting trophies - bears, dear, elk, wildcat, and his last trophy, a mountain lion.
Chuck was a United States Veteran - fiercely devoted to his country. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in March 1966 and was honorable discharged on December 12, 1969. He was stationed at Cam Ranh Bay Air Base, Vietnam 1967-1968. He was a member of the 5th Tactical Wing.
Chuck was a proud 39-year AA member. His devotion to helping himself and his "buddies" was inspirational. Every day he shared wonderful, encouraging messages with his "buddies". Chuck tried to live his life as an example of what you could be.
Chuck is survived by his sister, Barbara Warren Black, nephew Mike Black and his wife Kim, much loved great nephew Colton, and adored great nieces Kasey, Cori, and Kendall. He had many cousins in the Tampa, Florida area and cousins in Ohio. Chuck was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his beloved daughter Kelley Warren.
Chuck had so many friends that it is impossible to mention them all. But a heartfelt thank you to all his friends that cared for him, inspired him, and were inspired by him. Thank you for helping to fulfill his last wishes. A special thank you to Steve and Diane Kimbrell, and Stan and Vangie Crooks for the special friendship they shared.
