The Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Harold Ohlmeyer, Jr., age 87, of Hayesville, who passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Union County Nursing Home.

Mr. Ohlmeyer was born in Paterson, New Jersey on December 22, 1927 to Harold Ohlmeyer, Sr. and Anna Mae (Hunt) Ohlmeyer. After, having served his country proudly in the United States Army in Japan, he returned to complete trade school as a machinist. He regularly attended Hiawassee United Methodist Church and was also affiliated with Hayesville Mountain of Faith Baptist Church. Harold was an avid bowler, but truly enjoyed boating on the lake.

He will be missed by his family: loving wife of over 20 years, Betty Ohlmeyer; daughter, Janet Grace and her partner, Patrick Sehnke; daughter, Gina Ohlmeyer; step-son and his wife, Mark and Charlene Davidson; and grandson, Scott Grace. Also, sharing in his legacy are 2 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Pastor Sam Hamby and Rev. Jim Blair officiating. Special music will be presented by Hope Horkavy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the service begins on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local church or favorite charity.
