Harley William Norton

Mr. Harley William Norton, age 91 of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his home. Mr. Norton was born August 11, 1922 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Harvey William Norton and Pellmara Wishon Norton. A member and deacon of the Glen Hope Baptist Church he was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Norton, Perry Norton, and Johnny Norton, sisters, Elsie Lowman, Dollie Adams, and Delsie Queen. Harley was retired from working for the county doing various jobs. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time.

Survivors include loving wife, Edith Patterson Norton, son, Ray (Kathy) Norton, sister, Dessie Kinser, brother, C.J. Norton, granddaughter, Crystal Norton, great-grandchild, Kyler Norton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar O'Neal and Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. Music provided by Theresa Chastain. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Joe Adams, Kerry Norton, Chris Norton, Hollis Lowman, Jeff Boatfield, Wesley Patterson, Jamie Gilliland, and Jeff Harris.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 6-9 pm.
