Haden Shields, age 84 of Murphy, NC went home to be with the Lord Monday Morning August 2, 2010. He was born in Cherokee County North Carolina January 29, 1926 to Cas and Emma Ware Shields . He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by Brothers, Otis Shields, Olin Shields, Dennis Shields and Cecil Shields, sisters, Edna Bryant and Edith Anderson.
Survivors include: wife, Edna Arp Shields, son, Jerald Shields, son and daughter in law, Tom & Lisa Shields, son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Hope Shields, sister, Mary Owenby, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Karnes, Rev. Steve Ware and Rev. Raymond Shields officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
