Gurnell Evelyn "Teeny" Panter (Kisselburg)

May 25, 1924 — May 2, 2013

Mrs. Gurnell "Teeny" Kisselburg Panter, age 88 passed away Thursday May 2, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Mrs. Panter was born May 25, 1924 in Fannin County, GA, daughter of the late Pearly Lee Kisselburg and the late Myrtle Kaylor Kisselburg. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill, she was the wife of the late Carl E. "Sonny" Panter Jr., and preceded in death by sister, Helen K. Taylor, brothers, Edwin, Pearly Jr., Winfred, and Clyde Kisselburg.

She is survived by daughters, Glenda (Richard) Kimsey of Little Mt. S.C., and Carla (Jim) Zimmerman of Crossville TN, four grandchildren, Chris Zimmerman, Mandy Mattox, Joseph Zimmerman, and Nathan Kimsey, also five great-grandchildren all of whom she adored and they lovingly referred to her as "Mimi", sister, Dorothy K.(Hugh) Sullivan, and brother, Donald Kisselburg. She was a kindergarten teacher at the United Methodist Church of Copperhill for several years and she was an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. Her love of family and friends, her humorous personality, and love of life will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Copper Basin and Caris Hospice of Athens, TN for their dedicated care of their mother and grandmother. Also a special thanks to Gerald Danner.

The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill on May the 5th, 2013 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm prior to the service at 3:00pm with the Rev Jennings Neeld, and the Rev David Anderson officiating. The interment will take place at the Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Zimmerman, Joseph Zimmerman, Nathan Kimsey,Charles Mattox, Tim Taylor, Bill Taylor, and Ken Rayborn.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill, P.O. Box 538, Copperhill, TN 37317 or the Pat Summitt Alzheimer's Foundation Fund, East Tennessee Foundation, 625 Market St. Suit 1400, Knoxville, TN 37902.
