Goffery Willis Graves

Goffery Willis Graves, age 93, of Murphy, passed away Tuesday morning, December 7, 2021, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. Graves was born October 18, 1928, in Murphy, NC, to the late Robert Graves and the late Elvie Killian Graves. He was a Boiling Springs Baptist Church member and enjoyed working with several animals on his farm, including cows, sheep, and goats. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Graves, mother, Elvie Killian Graves, and wife, Lou Ella Mills Graves.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (Tommy) Melton, son, Steve (Jan) Graves, daughter, Phoebe (Anthony) Dye grandchildren, Amanda William, Steven Graves (Kelli), Stephanie Simonds, Shanna Fisher, Jesse Graves, Shawnta Shook, Daniel Dye, and Nathan Dye, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and his loyal companion of fifteen years, Mary Freeman.

Graveside services: Friday, December 10, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Graves Family Cemetery, with Rev. Anthony Dye officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers: Steven Graves, Jesse Graves, Daniel Dye, Nathan Dye, Cody Jones, Anthony Dye, and Justin Shook.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, NC, Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
