Mrs. Glata Elizabeth Kilpatrick Buchs, 81, of Florence, MS, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center in Brandon, MS.
Glata was born on November 7, 1930 in McCaysville, Georgia to the late Oscar Elisha and Hattie Mae Cabe Kilpatrick. She had been a Rankin County resident since 1976. Glata was a member of Lifeline Baptist Church; was a former Sunday School Teacher and youth worker; and had helped start two churches. She was a Foster Parent and a former EMT for the Cleary Volunteer Fire Dept. Glata had been a school teacher earlier in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Donald "Yank" Buchs; her son, Danny Buchs; two daughters, Cheri Fernandez and Lori Rodgers; and a granddaughter, Brandy Michelle Brown.
Survivors include two children: Kim Brown of Florence, MS and Terry Lynn Brown and wife Patsy of Flora, MS; three children, Susan Kleck of Waynoke, OK, Jody Guysinger of Florence, MS and Patrick Buchs of WI; and fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday, November 24, at 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
