Gladys Lucile Mason

Mrs. Gladys Lucile Mason, age 97 of Kernersville, NC passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at home in Kernersville, NC. Mrs. Mason was born April 28, 1918 in Shoal Creek, NC to the late Thomas Ledford and the late Nona Torrence Ledford. A member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Farner, TN she was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Odis "Red" Mason, two brothers, Ernest and Willard Ledford, and three sisters, Mildred Young, Elsie Miller, and Geneva Swanson. She was a loving and devoted housewife. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching Television and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Bill and his wife Helen Mason and Dan and his wife Sue Mason, five grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or Children's Miracle Network.
