Gertrude Lee Porter, Galiher (Abercrombie)

Mrs. Gertrude Porter Galiher, age 99, of Pendergrass, Georgia, passed away November 2, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Galiher was born July 25, 1912 in Fannin County, Georgia to the late Willis Abercrombie and .the late Julia Ellis Abercrombie. She was of the Protestant Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, First husband, John Porter, Sr.; Second husband, Clarence Galiher; children, Lloyd Porter, Hazel Watson, Wayne Porter, and Martha Hamilton. Gertrude lived in Fannin County, from 1912 until 1949 when she moved to Ecose MI. Gertrude loved gardening.

Survivors include: Daughters, Grace Groves of Riverview, MI, Bernice (Raymond) Sword of Grass Lake, MI, Christine (Frank) Mathis of Allen Park, MI, Kathaleen Porter of Blue Ridge, GA, Charlotte Bryant of Southgate, MI, and Wanda (Walt) Randell of Des Moines, IA; sons, John Porter, Jr. of Morganton, GA and Eugene (Janice) Porter,of Riverview, MI; thirty eight grandchildren; seventy seven great grandchildren; thirty nine great- great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.

Funeral services: Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.with Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Music provided by Rev. Raymond Sword. Interment will follow in .Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 4, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
