Geraldine Shane, 91, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on August 14th, 2024. She was born on February 5th, 1933, in Bronx, NY to the late Joseph and Rose Corjulo.
Geraldine devoted herself to service in her community. She was an invaluable Hospice Volunteer in Edgewater, FL, providing comfort and care to those in need during their most difficult times. Her contributions extended to her role as a Volunteer at Chatuge Regional Hospital, where her compassion and kindness left a lasting impact on patients and families alike.
Her spirit of service was further exemplified by her leadership as Treasurer for the women's VFW in 1996, a position that showcased her dedication to supporting fellow veterans and their families. Geraldine is remembered not only for her charitable endeavors but also for the warmth and friendship she shared with all those around her.
She is survived by her son, Mark W. Shane, and her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Shane; and many nieces and nephews; and many cousins as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Rose Corjulo; and her loving husband William Shane.
A funeral service will be held on September 6th, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Fr. Mario Lopez officiating.
Interment will follow at Union Memory Gardens.
Her legacy of kindness and generosity will be felt by all whose lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. Geraldine Shane will be remembered not just for her volunteerism, but also for the warmth and friendship she offered so freely to the world around her.
