Gerald Ledford

Mr. Gerald Ledford, age 85, of Murphy, passed away November 30, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Mr. Ledford was born October 6, 1930 in Wolf Creek, NC to the late Theodore Ledford and the late Carrie Gaddis Ledford. He was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Gerald loved gardening and spending time with grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brothers Ernest, Wayne, Carl (Bud), and Sam; and his son, Donnie Ledford.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Corrine Parris Ledford; sons, Rick (Stephanie) Ledford, Randy (Jane) Ledford, Ronnie (Sue Lynn) Ledford, Gary (Yvonne) Ledford, daughter, Kelly (Derrick) Kimsey; brother, Charles Ray Ledford, sister, Helen Cochran; grandchildren, Lauren Ledford, Gracie Ledford, Sarah Ledford, Chris Ledford, Katrina Ledford, Leslie Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Benjamin Ledford, Logan Ledford, Bryson Kimsey, Connor Kimsey, and Cora Kimsey; great grandchildren, Lindsey Ledford, Olivia Ledford, Kristin Hunt, Kaitlyn Davenport, Corbin Davenport, Caleb Ledford, Ella Ledford, Jude Ledford; and great-great granddaughter, Jaycee Hunt.
Funeral services: Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Patterson and Rev. Jimmy Cheatham officiating. Music provided by Chris Patterson. Interment will follow in Temple Baptist Church Cemetery in Hot House Community in Cherokee County NC. Pallbearers: Chris Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Benjamin Ledford, Logan Ledford, Bryson Kimsey, Connor Kimsey, Corbin Davenport, Caleb Ledford; and honorary pallbearer, Jimmy Harris.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
