George Vance Upchurch

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. George Vance Upchurch, of Blairsville, who passed away on Sunday, March 15th, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia.

George was born in Greenville, South Carolina, a son of George Vance Upchurch and Marian West Upchurch. George was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and was the owner and operator of Mountain Brook Nursery in Blairsville, and a member of Coosa Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue W. Upchurch; daughters, Kelly U. Howard (Eugene Day) and Elizabeth "Libby" U. Bonner (Waymon); children's mother, Trilby J. Harris; and grandchildren, Jordan V. Bonner and W. Cole Bonner. Many other treasured family and friends also survive.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at Coosa Methodist Church's Sanctuary at 12:00 pm, with Rev. Bill Burch and Rev. Katie Strals officiating. Military honors will be presented by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

Visitation will take place in the Fellowship Hall from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 6th, 2022, before the services. Coosa Methodist is located at 747 Mulky Gap Road, Blairsville, GA. 706-745-8893.
