George Guenther, 79, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Guenther was born January 17, 1931 in Copperhill, TN to the late George Guenther and the late Vada Harrison Guenther.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie M. Muirhead Guenther; five daughters, Patricia Brown and husband, Wendell, of Munfordville, Kentucky, Phyllis Rock of Jonesville, Kentucky, Pam Lane and husband, Ronnie, of Munfordville, Cheryl Bruton and husband, Gary, of Munfordville, and Linda
Bryant and husband, Sandy, of Hardyville, Kentucky; stepchildren, Diane Smith and husband, Larry, Jim Downs and wife, Martha, Faye Ray and husband, Johnny, Cindy Purvis and husband, Bobby, and Annette Smith and husband, Paul, all of West Helena; eleven grandchildren and eleven step-grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a sister,
Margaret Lewis of Isabel, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Bill Standridge of Copperhill, Tennessee; and the mother of his children, Alvine Taylor Wilkerson of Munfordville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Alvine Guenther; a grandson, Michael Wayne Brown, a stepson, William Downs; four sisters, Helen Mims, Marie Smith, Ann Eubank and Josephine Standridge; and two brothers, Charles Guenther and Lloyd Guenther.
A visitation will be held for George Guenther from 5-9 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, Georgia. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Pan-Well Cemetery in McCaysville, Ga.
