George Edward Fordham

Mr. George Edward Fordham, age 80 of Ellijay, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018. Mr. Fordham was born January 1, 1938 in Tampa, FL to the late Ralph Fordham and the late Mary Nell Nesbitt Fordham. A member of Cherry Log Christian Church, George had many interests and hobbies, his favorites were creating art and jewelry. George worked as an Insurance agent and Banker for many years and served his country by enlisting in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Andrew Edward Fordham, and one brother, Robert Fordham.

Survivors include wife, Wilma Young Fordham, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Daniel and Erica Fordham, son and daughter-in-law, Matthew William and Rebecca Fordham, one brother and sister-in-law, Alan Neal and Nancy Fordham, and six grandchildren, Kendal, Weston, Mark, Joseph, Luke, and Alexander.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Cherry Log Christian Church with Rev. Michael Brunson and Rev. Adam Bradley officiating. A gathering for family and friends will take place after the service.
