Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces graveside services for Genevieve Wade, age 81, of Carrollton, formerly of Blairsville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. She was born on April 30, 1931 in Long Branch, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Frank Huml and Rosalie Marick Huml. She and her late husband had owned and operated The Milton Inn in Blairsville and she had later worked at Circle K. She was a member of the Little Tallapoosa Botanical Society (LTBS); volunteered at Goodwill Industries, The Salvation Army and The Battered Women's Shelter; and loved water aerobics. She attended Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of The Praise Singers, and was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class at Carrollton First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Richard Wade. She is survived by her daughters and their families, Sharon and Roger Korte of Augusta, Ga.; Sandra and Grover West of Tyrone, Ga.; Cindi and Carlton Sparks of Blairsville, Ga.; Karen and Ed Harman of Carrollton, two sisters, Ramona Wood of Powder Springs, Ga.; Helen Keeney of Maquoketa, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Carli, Michael, Richard, Shawn, Andrew and Edwin; and two great grandchildren: Tinsley and Carder; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Dean Milford and Rev. Charles Cox officiating. The gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Edwin Harman III, John Bergstrom, Harrison McCraw and Royce Hamby. The honorary escort will consist of members of the Agape Sunday School Class, members of The Praise Singers and members of LTBS. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00PM.

Graveside interment services will be conducted Friday at 4:00PM from the Union Memory Gardens in Blairsville with Rev. Roy Watkins officiating.
