Geneva Louise Land

Geneva Louise Land, 98, of Leesburg, VA passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016. Geneva was born in Ducktown, TN on April 20, 1918. She was the daughter of Claude and Ida Davis Smith. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Donald Land (1940-1948) and Charles Land (1949-1971), her son, James Donald Land, her sisters Edith, Elsie, Eileen and Cleo and a brother, Olin.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Land McCauley of Ashburn, VA, her granddaughters, Angela Lorinchak (Wayne) of Hamilton, VA, and Andrea Alexander (Mark) of Leesburg. Geneva was also the loving great-grandmother of Kaitlyn and Drew Lorinchak,and Joe and Nick Alexander.

Geneva lived most of her life in MacArthur, WV where she was a homemaker. She was very active in the Mabscot Methodist Church, serving on many committees and helping with church activities.

Graveside services with be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to either the American Diabetes Association online or at P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312 or Capital Caring Hospice 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042. Please share condolences with the family at www.loudounfuneralchapel.com.

Local arrangements are being handled by the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA.
