Geneva Kathy Hogsed

Mrs. Geneva Kathy Hogsed, age 64 of Hiawassee, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Mrs. Hogsed was born April 11, 1951 in Blairsville, GA to the late Carlos Ingram and the late Artie Bell King Ingram. Kathy was a member of Day of Grace Baptist Church in Blairsville. She was a lifelong resident of this area and had worked for many years at Chatuge Regional Hospital. After retiring there, she opened a home child care facility and cared for children for over 15 years. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Hogsed of Hiawassee, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Nacole Hogsed of Hiawassee, son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Shannon Hogsed of Hiawassee, sister, Helen Hogsed of Hiawassee, sister, Mildred Babb of Woodstock, GA, sister, Sheila Wright of Blairsville, sister, Rachel McClure of Blairsville, Brother, Harold Ingram of Young Harris, Brother, Ray Ingram of Blairsville, sister, Audrey Hemphill of Blairsville, and grandchildren, Callie Hogsed, Clay Hogsed, Jaylen Hogsed, and Brayden Hogsed. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Day of Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Griggs and Rev. Jeremy Henderson officiating. The body will lie in state at the church, Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Music will be provided by Lee and Cathy Griggs . Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Wesley McClure, Cory Ingram, Chad Ingram, Rex Hemphill, Jerry Hemphill, and Dillon Ingram.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Monday, November 2, 2015, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
