Gene Leslie Kephart

Mr. Gene Leslie Kephart, age 68 of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. Mr. Kephart was born June 21, 1948, in Cottage Grove, Oregon to the late Sheridan Kephart and the late Selma Crowder Kephart. A member of The Church of God on Hwy 294 he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kephart. Gene held many jobs over the years such as logging in Oregon, cutting firewood and finishing furniture for Baker Furniture. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors.

Survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (Kraig) Christensen, nephew, Andrew Christensen and niece, Lesia Clark.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Morrow and Tom Anderson officiating. Music provided by Stephanie Reid and the Payne sisters. Interment will follow in the Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers will be Kraig Christensen, Keith Marcus, Samuel Kephart, Eric Reid, Ronnie Williamson and Steven Higdon.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Cochran Funeral Home from 1-2 pm.
