The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Gail (White) Robertson who passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Robertson was born on April 13, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Elzie Thomas & Martha Emily White. Gifted with a passion for serving others, she entered the medical field as a Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in OB/GYN care. Her positive outlook on life, accompanied by her warm smile, inspired and encouraged those around her. These attributes became even more apparent as she tenaciously fought MS for almost 40 years. Indeed, she used these health trials to increase the impact of her faith witness and testimony. She often put aside her own needs and fervently lifted others up in prayer. The definition of a prayer warrior and embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman- Gail was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC.
Gail leaves behind to cherish her memory and continue her legacy: her devoted husband of 58 years, Roy Edward Robertson; sons & daughters-in-law, Michael & Connie Robertson and Mark & Sherry Robertson; grandchildren, Austin Connor Robertson (Sheri-Lyn), Lindsay Elizabeth Robertson, Amanda Robertson Wood (Phillip), Jennifer Brown Thompson (David), and Emily Catherine Robertson; brother, William Richard White (Susan). 4 great grandchildren and numerous nephews also share in her legacy. She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Colby Christian Wood.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Wood officiating. Special music will be presented by the Wood Family. Eulogies will be given by Mark and Austin Robertson. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Allen White, Chris White, Russell White, Austin Robertson, Lamar Worthy, and Roy Cole. Interment will follow the service at Osborn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16th, starting at 10:30 a.m. before the funeral service begins in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home.
