The people we share our lives with are always colorful. Legendary in their own ways. Even the ordinary have their own kind of extraordinary. Gail H. Corbett was no exception to this. Gail was born October 11th 1934, to Reverend Joseph and Fannie Hathaway of Smithfield North Carolina. Raised as a preacher’s daughter in a loving home, she met her future husband, Freddie Luvon Corbett in 1955. In 1958 they married and started a 63 year journey that most only dream of. She helped Freddie through pharmacy school, providing him with love and support. She and Freddie moved to Tucker Georgia where they lived for many years. They eventually adopted 2 children, Pamela Renee and Freddie Luvon Jr (Von). She lovingly raised both children while simultaneously working as a fraud investigator for First American bank where she eventually retired. In 1995 she recovered from breast cancer, went into remission and never looked back. After retiring they moved to Morganton Ga where she helped raise her grandchildren, Matthew and Danielle. She was an incredible, hardworking, strong woman that will be missed by all who knew her. Sadly, she passed away in the early morning hours on November the 6th 2021. She lived her life for others, always putting her family and loved ones before herself, never had a bad word to say about anyone and would do everything in her power to help those in need. She was a role model to many, a saint, a mother, and one of God’s greatest gifts to this world. Her passing will be mourned but she will always be remembered for the extraordinary woman that she was. She is survived by her loving husband Freddie, her daughter Renee, her grand children Matthew and Danielle, and her great grandchildren Kyleigh and Logan.
