Freddy Cook, Jr. age 29, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away September 18, 2013 at his home. Freddy was born August 26, 1984 in Blue Ridge, GA to Freddy Cook Sr. and Janet Key Cook . Freddy was a avid golf player, winning the Copper Basin Golf Club championship nine times, and a huge TN Vols fan. He was inducted into the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. Freddy or "Little Freddy" as many called him was loved by his family, friends and the community. He will be missed by many.
Preceded in death his grandparents, C.B. and Peggy Key, and Grady "Catfish" Cook.
Survivors include: daughter, Annabelle Leyla Cook of Murphy, N.C; parents, Freddy Cook Sr., &, Janet (Key) Cook, sisters & brothers-in-law, Tricia & Matthew Deal of Copperhill, TN, and Amanda & Jonathan Herendon of Blue Ridge, GA; nephew, Nathaniel Deal; niece, Kayla Herendon,and grandmother, Grace Olvey.
Funeral services: Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Collins, and Rev. John Davis officiating. Eulogy will be given by Mr. Roy Tipton. Music will be provided by Mr. Jimmy Allen.
Serving as pallbearers: Coach Greg Chambers, and the Class of 2002 FCHS Golf Team, Jeffery Petty, Chip Stewart, Bert Nelson, Bart Nelson, and Brian Nix.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Herendon, Matthew Deal, David Atkinson, Brett Curtis, Colby Panter, Lawrence Lannie, and Hunter Bruce.
Interment will follow in the Cook Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute.
Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday Evening, September 21, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
