Freda "Micky" Jones, age 91, passed away Sunday, July 15th, 2018 at her home in Blue Ridge. Micky was born October 29, 1926 in Eversly, England and moved to the United States in 1950. She was married to the late Clifford Jones of Miami, Florida. Micky was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Blue Ridge. She was an active volunteer in the community, serving as a pink lady at Fannin Regional Hospital and working with the Blue Ridge Community Theater children's summer camp program. Micky served in the RAF during World War II in England as a dispatch rider and later in the Women's Land Army. Micky will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her sister, Sonia (Rex ) Smith of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, her brother, John (Julia) Perks of Saxsons River, Vermont, nephews, Buddy (Christine) Rogers of Mineral Bluff, Georgia , and Richard (Jennifer) Goff of New Port Ritchie, Florida, nieces, Melanie (James) Boyle of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, Melinda (Anthony) Jones of Morganton, Georgia, Karen Goff of Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer Goff of Panama City, Florida, great-nephews, Nathan (Katy) Callihan, Connor Jones, Andrew Jones, Garrett Rogers and Wyatt Rogers all of Fannin County, Georgia, Justin Goff of Destin, Florida, and Jonathan Coupe of Panama City, Florida, great-nieces Natalie McLaughlin, Emily McLaughlin and Sydnie Jones of Fannin County, Georgia, Jessie Spurrelle of Panama City, Florida, and Tessa Goff of Jacksonville, Florida.
Services to be held Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. At Faith Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge, Georgia. Michael Gable, the associate pastor, officiating.
