Mr. Frank McKinley Long, age 89 of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Gilmer County Nursing Home. Mr. Long was born December 29, 1923 in Dial, GA to the late Coleman and Senia Farmer Long. A member of the Glen Hope Baptist Church, he was a very hard working man, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking in his spare time.
Survivors include: son, James R.(Carolyn Sue) Long, daughter, Wanda R.(Tommy) Morris, son, Jack (Betty) Long, son, Carl "Raymond" (Sherry Jane) Long, daughter, Sandra Sue (Mitchell) Aaron, sister, Carrie (Reid) Conley, sister, Jane (Gene) Ledford, sister, Ruth (Bill) Hawkins, and sister, Ruby (Elmer) Boone, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Mashburn, Rev. David Mashburn, and Rev.James Worley officiating. Music provided by Pat Mashburn. Interment will follow in the Stockhill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tony Long, Josh Aaron, Brian Long, Cody Weaver, Earl Cochran, and Robbie Conley.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
