Frances Spurgon Leatherwood

Mrs. Frances (Spurgon) Leatherwood, age 103, of Upper Peachtree Rd. Murphy passed away Thursday evening July 9, 2009. She was born Oct. 17, 1905 in Cherokee County NC the daughter of the late Braz and Georgia Curtis Love.
She was a member of the Upper Peachtree Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and working with crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy five years William J. (Bill) Leatherwood, grandsons, David Leatherwood and Phill Leatherwood, six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include; daughter, Hilda McTaggart, sons and daughters in law, Bob and Wilma Leatherwood, Fred (Shorty) and May Leatherwood, daughter and son in law Martha (Peachie) and Charles Sonny Raxter, brother, John Love, thirteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and twenty five great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening 6- 8 PM
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, at 8:00PM from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Carrol Roper, Reverend Harold Stiles and Revered Tony Raxter officating. Music will be by Tomotla Baptist Church Choir and Belivers Choice. Grandson will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow Sunday evening at 2:00 PM in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
