Frances Collins Kent, daughter of Betty and Eldon Collins, was born on December 7, 1942 in Blairsville Georgia. They owned and operated Collins Department store, which became a huge part of the community. Fran graduated from Union County High school in 1960 with the Senior Superlative "Most Witty" in her graduating class. From there, she attended Young Harris College, where she married Bill Kent. She and Bill had 3 daughters, Kim, Kayce and Haley. The family moved to Canton to work and raise their children, and Fran later returned to Blairsville to reside.
She leaves behind her daughters, Kimberly Holcombe, Kayce Byers, and Haley Whyte. She also leaves behind her son in laws, Tony Holcombe, Keith Byers, and Jason Whyte. Sharing in her legacy are 8 grandchildren, Jonathan Davis, Josh Davis, Olivia Clarisse, Molly Gerrell, Nick Whyte, Ally Whyte and Ava Whyte and Tori Byers. She leaves 8 great grandchildren, Mason Mills, Everett Davis, Lily Kate Epperson, Ella Gerrell, Lucy Gerrell, Jude Clarisse, Jonah Clarisse and Emma Clarisse. She also leaves behind her Uncle and Aunt, Tommy and Jean Rogers, and her Aunt, Louise Lance. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Betty Collins, and her sweetheart, Alvin Dyer.
Fran loved sharing her daily life with Al and being with their dog Dixie. Their favorite thing to do was spend time on the porch together. She was a huge Nascar and Braves fan, and loved to read in her spare time. Fran was unique in every way, all the way from her fun personality, to her clothing style. She loved her family above everyone else, always making sure they were well, safe, and living their best life. In turn, she was equally as special to her family.
