Fran Wagner Taylor

January 29, 1950 — November 26, 2013

Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announces memorial services for Fran Wagner Taylor, age 63, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Monday, November 25, 2013.

Independent and free-spirited, Fran was a woman full of life and energy. She would rise early everyday ready to start a new adventure. With a child like wonder,a whimsical and sometimes slight mischievous personality she approached life. Family was important to her. She was "her girls" biggest fan and supporter and they could do no wrong in her eyes. Fran was always understanding and helpful, guiding her daughters in making decisions with welcomed motherly advice and wisdom. Her children will cherish memories of seeing her perched on a tree stump next to the bus stop awaiting their arrival home from school and the 1/2 mile walk back home. Fran led their girl scout troop on hiking and camping excursions and taught them to enjoy nature. Watching wildlife and exploring nature was a passion that Fran continued even after the days of scouting had past. Her curiosity to explore made "short cuts" into "long cuts" on more than a few occasions.

Fran's favorite holiday was Christmas, especially traditions that she set in motion. Each year, She looked forward to decorating her home and baking mountains of cookies. Fran would present her hand crafted, personalized gifts such as quilts and baskets, to family and friends. All of which were made with love. An avid reader, she could often be found curled up in a comfortable spot, eating popcorn and delving between the pages of a good suspense or thriller novel. She was a paralegal by trade, but always dreamed of the day she could retire and really enjoy life.

She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughter, Valerie Wagner; daughter & son-in-law; Wendy & Rudy Ryback; granddaughter, Shelby Goldsmith and great granddaughter, Marley Ann Grace McNulty. Sisters & brother-in-laws, Sharon & Joseph Douin and Linda & Woody Woodall also share in her legacy.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the foot of Helton Creek Falls in Blairsville. Special Remembrances and Scripture will shared by all in attendance with Celebrant Funeral Director Brandon Burkhead officiating.
