Ford King

Mr. Ford King, age 79 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Ford was born Monday, December 17, 1928 in Union County to the late Marcus Clayburn King and the late Addie Kate Dyer King. He was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church and was preceded in death by sister, Northa Brown and brother, Rouse King.

Survivors include: son, Charles King of Blairsville, GA, daughter, Mary Jo King of Marietta, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Arlen and Barbara King of Blairsville, GA, son, Lee King of Blairsville, GA, sisters, Irene Davis, Lucille Collins and Hazel Dyer, brothers Cecil King and Sam King, all of Blairsville, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Interment will follow in Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are, Toby Collins, Freddie Collins, Jason Collins, Aubrey Dyer, Harold Collins and Herman Cheek. Honorary pallbearers will be, Kevin Cheek and Mike King.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Thursday, September 11.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Old Liberty Baptist Church.

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
