Faye Klepinger Wine, 74 died on December 29th, 2009 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church, where the services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
Mrs. Wine was born on November 3, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio, to Raymond and Mary Klepinger. She met her sweetheart, Ray Wine, while attending college. Faye and Ray were married in October 1955 in Trotwood, Ohio.
Faye was an avid seamstress and designer. She single-handedly brought Mc Calls Pattern Company out of bankruptcy proceedings in the late eighties with her long lop-eared bunny pattern. She designed over 1,000 craft patterns throughout her lifetime.
She moved to Hiawassee with her husband in 1984 from Clearwater, Florida. Prior to moving to Hiawassee, her professions included: waitress, dog breeder and professional handler, seamstress and interior decorator, all while raising four children!
She was a business owner opening the first craft store, The Hen?s Nest, in Hiawassee, as well as Grandmas Lap, a children?s clothing store. Due to her deep love of Christmas, she had a vision to open Always Christmas, a year round Christmas store in Hiawassee that is still family owned and operated today.
Faye is survived by her faithful husband, Ray Wine, and her adoring children; Cheryl Stevens of Pinellas Park, FL, Michael Wine of Hiawassee, GA, Tammy Hollingshead of Hiawassee, GA, and Tina Spear of Anderson, SC, her twin sister, Faith Van Zanten, of Plainfield, IL, as well as 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Her family wrote: When she left this world she was surrounded by many family members as well as her favorite gospel songs. She left a legacy that will live on through the lives of those she touched. Faye was a selfless woman and sought to give to others and share in their happiness. Upon determining someone?s needs, she would take it upon herself to ensure they received what they required. She could run circles around any teenager and still have energy to spare. We are certain she is back to her routine in heaven getting things ready for the rest of us.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Mc Connell Memorial building fund or the American Cancer Society.
