The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces services for Mr. Everett Ray Sexton, age 90 of Blairsville, who passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Union County Nursing Home. Mr. Sexton was born May 6, 1925 in Blairsville, GA to John and Fannie Gillespie Sexton. Everett had lived most of his life in Union County and was a member of Mountain Grace Baptist Church in Young Harris. He was a WWII veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Brown Sexton; 3 brothers, Tillman, Worth and Neal Sexton; and 2 sisters, Ruth Cook and Bonnie Starnes.
Survivors include: daughters, Kathy (Kyle) Moss, Brenda (Herman) Garrett, and Diane (Richard) Morgan, all of Blairsville, Brothers, Bobby (Eloise) Sexton and Edward (Betty) Sexton, and sister, Clara (Hugh) Mathis, all of Blairsville. 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with the Rev. Denny Moss officiating. Music will be provided by The Moss Family. Interment will follow in the Mountain Grace Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Cox officiating. Pallbearers: Wesley Garrett, Travis Morgan, Justin Moss, Zachary Coker, Evan Jaco, and Frank Collins.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville of Blairsville, Thursday, June 18, 2015, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
