Evelyn Virginia Prather

Evelyn Virginia Prather, age 84, of Blue Ridge, passed away November 2, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Prather was born May 27, 1934, in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Albert Green and the late Mattie Queen Green. She was a member of New River Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed watching the squirrels in her yard, feeding her birds, painting, and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Green, mother, Mattie Queen Green, her husband, Bobby Prather, and grandson, Robert Prather.

Survivors include a son, Rodger (Gladys) Prather, daughter, Susie (Bill) Kendall, daughter, Linda (Joey) Davenport, daughter, Wynoka (Mark) Chitty, daughter, Lisa Sanders, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 3:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of McCaysville, with Bill Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Hill #2 Baptist Church Cemetery on Ada St. in Blue Ridge. Pallbearers: Bryan Dills, Gary Dills, Dylan Sharp, Jimmy Smith, Christopher Davis, Levi Prather.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
