Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Evelyn Elizabeth Morris, age 86, of Margate, Florida formerly of Hiawassee, who passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Margate, Florida.

Evelyn Elizabeth Morris was born in Dearborn, Michigan on April 9, 1928. A daughter of the late Harold & Eleanor Christensen, one of two siblings, her brother died at the age of two from pneumonia. Elizabeth has three surviving children, Mark, Beth and Carol, with four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Elizabeth worked as a respiratory therapist. She always cared for others, and had a passion for saving lives. Elizabeth married her late husband Gilbert Morris on June 30th 1975 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Elizabeth and Gil, enjoyed traveling in their motor home all over the United States.

Her family will cherish many memories of holiday gatherings, cooking and hiking in the woods. Elizabeth and her grandchildren would take hikes through the woods, finding sticks along the way and poking them through the frozen ice. She enjoyed gardening, playing golf and cooking.

Elizabeth has touched many lives and memories of her will stay in our hearts forever. Sharing in her legacy are her Grandchildren, John, Michael, Michelle & Jennifer along with her Great Grandchildren, Addison, Avary, Abigail, Mackenzie, Matthew, Isabella & Caleb.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Dr. John Kay officiating. Special Music will be presented by Wayne Hundley. Interment will follow in Laurel Hills Memory Gardens. The following gentlemen have the honor to serve as pallbearers: John DeMarco, Michael DeMarco, James Griffin and Dennis DeMarco. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from Noon until the Service Hour.
