Eveline Cothern

The Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces graveside services for Mrs. Eveline Pruitt Cothern, age 75 of Blairsville, who passed away on Wednesday morning, February 7, 2017.

Mrs. Cothern was born in Leachville, AR on July 20, 1942 to the late L.C. and Dorothy Irene Butler Pruitt. Along with her parents, Eveline has also gone to meet her sisters Geneva Watkins and Paulett Nichols. As a homemaker and loving mother, she enjoyed cooking, canning, and gathering with her family. Mrs. Cothern was also known as the "Sock Lady" from the many years she sold socks at Decker's Flea Market in Murphy, North Carolina.

She will be missed by all who knew her but especially missed by her family: Sons, James Wright of Blairsville; Luther "Pete" Wright (Lisa) of Murphy; and Kenneth Wright of Blue Ridge, Georgia; daughters Theresa Ledford (Tim) of Hiawassee; and Jeanie Meachum (Bobby) of Heartford, Michigan; brothers, Leamon Pruitt (Lois) and J.C. Pruitt; sisters, Louise May and Brenda Shafer (Mike). Also sharing in her legacy are her grandchildren; Jamie Wright, Dewayne Wright (Patti), Billy Gene Ledford (Sherry Bigmeat), Brittany Ledford, Bryant Ledford, Bradley Wright (Heather), Jessica Stiles, Corie Barchett (Mike) and Kyle Meachum, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for Mrs. Cothern on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:00 am from the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Coffee officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be James Wright, Luther Wright, Kenneth Wright, Justin Loyd, Dewayne Wright and Billy Ledford.
