Eunaviee Curtis

Eunaviee Hedrick Curtis of the Upper Peachtree Community near Murphy, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2023, one day after her 93rd birthday.  A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Delphia Whitener Hedrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Curtis, in May, 2021, and her siblings, Doris Roberson, Geneva Parris, Marvin Hedrick and Callie Bush.

Eunaviee was a gentle beauty. She had a great love for her husband and her family. She spent hours sewing clothes for her family, always making sure her girls were beautifully dressed. Her home was a welcome place for all who entered. Her grandchildren especially remember that in her presence, they were safe, comfortable and loved.  The last few years of her life, Eunaviee had a longing to go home. Her family takes comfort in knowing that now, she is more home than ever before. 

She is survived by her daughters, Angie Curtis (Bill Hall) of Marble, NC, Gail Conner (Richard) and Myra Teesateskee (Jim), all of Peachtree, NC. She had 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 8 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren.  The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers; Jeff Martin, Larry Curtis, Dennis Curtis, Andrew White, Bruce Yonce, and Barry Curtis. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers; Bruce Parris, Rick Parris, and Keith Parris.

The family understands, fully, the risks of COVID exposure. We are honoring Eunaviee's wishes of a traditional funeral and welcome those who wish to attend. For those who are unable to attend, or are uncomfortable being in a crowded setting, we just ask you whisper a prayer for our family.

Funeral Services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy, Wednesday February 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve West, Rev. Jason Killiam, and Rev. Derrick Tilley Officiating. The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy from 12:00-2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.
