Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Estelle W. Camp, age 93, of Blairsville, who passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.

Mrs. Camp was a native of Newark, New Jersey, and had moved to Blairsville in 1980 from West Palm Beach, Florida. She was a longtime member of Choestoe Baptist Church, and had served as the assistant treasurer of Blairsville Christian Women's Club. Mrs. Camp had worked as a manager at a gift shop in Brasstown Bald for years, and served her community as a volunteer for Union County Relay for Life. As long as she was able, Mrs. Camp was involved in a variety of community activities. Mrs. Camp had a green thumb and enjoyed flower gardening and had a fondness for houseplants. She enjoyed many different crafts and she was so talented - she could make anything. She was nick-named "The Purple Lady", because of her love for the color purple, which she wore quite often! Mrs. Camp's husband, James Perry Camp, Jr., passed away in 2005.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory are: daughter, Carolyn Wilson and her spouse Judy; daughter, Donna Jean Weston and her spouse, Chuck; daughter, Grace Ray and her spouse Donnie; grandchildren: Todd Wilson, Scott Wilson, Kim Dwyer, Shandra Meagher, Vanessa Brooks, Michele Mendez, and Teresa Dale; eleven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Ken Zollinger officiating. Special music will be presented by Choestoe Baptist Church Choir. Selected to serve as pallbearers are: Chuck Weston, Scott Wilson, Todd Wilson, Michael Dwyer, Kim Dwyer, and Anton Avilez. Burial will be in Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home for one hour prior to the funeral service.

The family wishes to express their thanks to Union County Nursing Home facilities and staff for their care and comfort of Mrs. Camp.
