The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Estelle Collins Owens, age 88 of Hayesville, North Carolina who passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at her home.
She was a prayer warrior with unwavering faith and a shining example of unconditional love to her family and all who knew her.
She was a native of Boaz, Alabama, but had resided in Clay County, North Carolina for the past 42 years. She was the daughter of the late Addie Hodges and Ossie "Bogue" Collins. She was a member of New Life Church of God in Andrews, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, T.B. Owens, and her granddaughter Carla Rachelle Edwards.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Basil and Lochie Owens of Hayesville, N.C.; Terry and Sue Owens of Albertville, Alabama; Brenda and Tommy Garrard of Hayesville, N.C.; and Regina and Fred Delili of Hayesville, N.C.
She is also survived by two sisters, Edith Baker of Rock Ledge, Alabama and Janie Baker of Walnut Grove, Alabama and seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Delili officiating. Special music will be presented by Mrs. Owens's daughter and great grandchildren. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Assembly of God Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Pastor Mitchell Totherow, Mike Milsap, Tim Walters, Gary Flaherty, Stan Martin & Joseph Gadd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideon Ministries.
