Ervin Harris

July 14, 1932 — November 2, 2011

On November 2, 2011, Mr. Ervin Harris departed this world to be with his Heavenly Father. Ervin was born on July 14, 1932 to Luke and Pearl Harris. He was a big brother to Jack Harris of Blue Ridge, GA, Cecil (Teter) Harris and Bobby Harris of Indianapolis, Indiana, Walter (Dink) Harris of Blue Ridge, GA and Betty Jo Hancock of Savannah, GA. Ervin was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord and was a member of Hot House Baptist Church.
In 1952, Ervin married his best friend and the love of his life, Bessie Lou (Wright) Harris. Shortly after their marriage, Ervin enlisted in the Army and was sent to Korea to fight for his country. When he returned home, Ervin and Bessie began building their life together. He served his trade as a boilermaker at the Tennessee Chemical Company where he retired after 37 years of labor and service.
Ervin was most known for the unconditional love he had for his family. He was a devoted, respected and loved daddy to one son, Ervin (Chris) Harris and wife, Teresa Harris of Mineral Bluff, GA; and two daughters, Susan Diane Harris of Murphy, NC and Nola Darlene Paschall of McCaysville, GA. Ervin's most prized role in this life was being "paw paw" to his three precious granchildren; Derek Adam Jones, Jessica Lace Barton, and Tyler Ervin Harris all of Mineral Bluff, GA.
Ervin was a respected friend and co-worker to many. He asked that each one remember the memories of him while living and not past.
A private family service was held Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Chapel of Henry-Cochran Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, GA. Henry-Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may send condolences to the family and sign the guest registry online at www.cochranfuneralhomes.com
